Services
At TAP Learning Services we will gladly meet with you to discuss your concerns. We offer initial screenings as needed and can recommend excellent licensed child psychologists if it is determined that your child needs further testing. Additionally, we are available to meet with you to further discuss what accommodations and/or remediation is being recommended for your child by psychologists or other educational professionals.
Tutoring
TAP offers an explicit and systematic approach to teaching spelling, reading, and written expression while utilizing a multi-sensory approach. We further address the social-emotional component that accompanies learning disabilities. We acknowledge that tutoring does not end with the student but includes support for parents as well. We seek to be part of a team that is designed to help your child reach their academic potential. Please visit the https://www.ortonacademy.org/
Assessment
TAP offers reading and spelling assessments which provide more information regarding a child’s reading profile. Students are assessed for strengths and weaknesses in phonemic awareness, phonics, reading, spelling, and oral expression. Assessments typically take 45-60 minutes. The assessment additionally includes a written report and consultation to discuss next steps. If needed, a list of licensed psychologists may also be provided.
TAP also offers consultations based on Psychological Educational Testing. TAP will review results and offer suggestions based on results with attempts to help clients determine needs. These needs may be school recommendations, remediation opportunities, or accommodation suggestions based on your child’s learning profile.
Professional Development
TAP offers professional training to tutors and teachers seeking to know more about the Orton-Gillingham Approach. As a Fellow-in-Training, Kelly is certified to deliver training through the Orton-Gillingham Academy. This training may come through TAP or in conjunction with The Schenck School/Dyslexia Resource.
